Who doesn’t love a good Rice Krispie square recipe? We love them in our house and refer to them as “gooeys”. I’ve put together the recipe that I think is simply the best one I’ve tried yet! Around Easter time, I put a few Mini Eggs on top to make it festive, but this recipe is great all year ’round! Hope you enjoy it!
INGREDIENTS
- 5 Tablespoons butter
- 6 cups regular sized marshmallows
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
- 1/8 teaspoon salt (optional)
- splash of vanilla extract (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Spray a 9×9-inch pan with non-stick spray, set aside
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium-low heat
- Then add the regular marshmallows and the vanilla and stir constantly until marshmallows are melted
- Stir the salt into the cereal to mix it in before adding to the marshmallow mixture
- Remove the marshmallow mixture from the heat and add the cereal/salt mixture
- Stir until the cereal is coated in the marshmallow mixture and then quickly add in the 2 cups of mini marshmallows
- This will allow the mini marshmallows to get soft but not to melt completely (delish!)
- Pour mixture into prepared pan. Spray a spatula with non-stick spray and use it to press the mixture into the pan
- Allow to cool and cut into squares

This recipe is deadly…. I might not share!
