Sugarplum Dreams Birthday Party

Georgia’s 5th Birthday with Small Shop Shares

Having a birthday during lockdown isn’t most kids’ ideal birthday scenario, but Gigi never minds spending time with her family and she was SO excited about the sugarplum / nutcracker theme this year. We had a quiet party with dancing, treats, a hot cocoa bar, and lots of decorations.

I partnered with a few small shops to make this vision come to life and I want to thank Olivia Rose for the gorgeous matching tutus for all three of us girls, Party et Cie for the beautiful décor items, Pretty Paper Studio for the printables (flags, hot cocoa bar, etc), and Adaline and the Fairies for the gorgeous ballet slippers and bows. These beautiful additions really took the party to the next level.

I created some DIY nutcracker girls by painting them, adding yarn hair, lace up ballet slippers, and jewels. These were a favourite of Gigi’s and she asked if she could “keep them forever”. These nutcrackers were from Dollarama so it was a big upgrade for a very inexpensive find!

I made her cake myself and just added some Christmas ballerina stems as cake toppers.

For the hot cocoa bar I followed the lead of Pretty Paper Studio and added the toppings that were included in her printables and it was SUCH a hit! Everyone loved making their custom hot cocoa (especially the birthday girl).

Thank you to the talented small shops that collaborated with me in making her sugar plum fairy dreams come true!

Let me know what you think of it all!

What a beautiful party and wonderful theme for such a lovely little girl! I love all the details, the nutcracker garland, the donut board, the hot chocolate bar and the DIY nutcrackers are out of this world. Well done Missy! Georgia must have been over the moon! I still can’t believe she’s 5!!!!
