It seems like I’m on a recipe kick lately – but this one is definitely a good one. Our kids love oatmeal, and this is such an easy recipe that makes for a smooth morning routine! We are always looking for ways to make the mornings go quickly and smoothly. The kids sleep until about 7:20 and school drop off for Noah is 8:20 (bell rings at 8:30), so we don’t have a ton of time to do breakfast and get ready for the day.
If we aren’t prepared for a healthy breakfast it usually means cereal or frozen waffles (both of which are fine, but its nice to have a healthier option for part of the week)!
Overnight oats are so simple and you can customize them to your taste so easily. If you have mason jars, this makes for easy storage in the fridge and you know that each jar is one serving (our kids split one, so we make 3 at a time).

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup oats
- 1/3 cup milk of your choice (I use almond)
- 1/3 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Directions
- Add all ingredients to your mason jar
- Stir well
- Cover and refrigerate overnight!
- Top with fresh berries, coconut flakes, slivered almonds, whatever you like!
The fun thing about overnight oats is you can add anything you like to change the flavour. Try mashing up half a banana and mixing that in, or add a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder for a chocolatey taste. You can stir in matcha powder, or fresh berries, anything you enjoy!
We most often use this recipe and top it with whatever we are feeling like the next morning!

I’ve never tried putting yogurt in my overnight oats before but I am definitely going to try now! Thanks!
