Our little Sloane Eloise has just turned 4 months old and I feel like I have a good handle on what essentials we just couldn’t live without this time around. We didn’t buy many new items for her this time around, but the things that we did were great buys. I feel like I’m finally really understanding what baby items are necessary and which ones are not (I should have another 8 babies, I guess!) – haha.
There is SO much out there. There are SO many options. I hope that this list helps you if you are expecting, whether it is your first baby or you are a seasoned Mama.

1. The Snuggle Me Organic
The Snuggle Me Organic is a lounger for babies from 0-6 months. We have the organic lounger with two covers: “natural” and “iris”. It gently pulls in against baby when you place her in, giving the feeling of a hug. We have loved this lounger from day one. It is not recommended for sleeping, but we would allow her to nap in it if we were watching her closely (NOT overnight). I am not recommending you do the same, since it is not recommended for sleep, I’m just telling you what we did. It was also a great place to lay Sloane down where we knew she would feel safe and relaxed. I could have her on the kitchen counter while I did dishes, or on the couch next to me while I worked on the computer, etc. It isn’t the cheapest thing on the market, but it has been really amazing. Since it is quite small and easy to move around, we could bring it up and down the stairs, or over to other homes when we visited friends and family as a place to put her down.
2. Mustella No-Rinse Cleansing Water

This cleansing water completely got rid of Sloane’s baby acne in just a few uses. It would come back once in a while (you can’t really avoid that), but then with one or two applications, it would be gone again. It is amazing!
Every newborn can get baby acne and it isn’t harmful, but its nice to get it cleared up quickly. I highly recommend this product!
3. Tiny Love Soothe and Groove Mobile

Ah! Talk about life-changing! This mobile is so cute, and it plays really nice music for baby. We have never had an “entertaining” mobile for our babies in the past (just stationary ones that are pretty to look at), but I had heard that this one was so much fun for little ones and Sloane Eloise is obsessed with it. If I ever need to get something done while she is awake, I can put it in her crib, turn it on, and she’ll be happy for the longest time, watching the animals spin around.
My big kids also love it and love to turn it on for her if she wakes up from a nap and is fussy. Total win! She’s now 3.5 months old and has not tired of this yet, so its going to be something we keep around for a while, I’m sure.
4. Philips Avent Soothie Pacifier
Sloane is now amazing with a pacifier and will take a few different brands (another favourite is BIBS), but in the beginning, the Avent Soothie was the ONLY pacifier she would take. Being that our first two didn’t take pacifiers or bottles ever, we were anxious to introduce the soother earlier this time, and we finally had success this time around! Bonus: you can also get a pink & purple 2-pack if you want!
She also loves the BIBS brand pacifiers, which you can find here.
5. Love to Dream Swaddle Up Swaddle Sack
We tried SO many swaddles and sleep sacks with all three babies and this one has been hands-down the favourite. Buy a couple so you always have them on rotation and use NOTHING ELSE. I swear by it! You need the small one for a newborn and then the larger, transitional one as they grow. The larger one has removable zip-off “wings” so you can let their arms out once they start to roll. Sloane has always instantly settled once we zip her into this and she knows it’s time for bed. She sleeps really well in it. It allows her to keep her hands up near her face but prevents her from self-startling. GENIUS!

I hope this has helped you out in some way. Comment below some of your favourites that I might have missed!
