Kids Responsibility Charts

If your children are preschool age and over, they can definitely be helping out around the house! This not only gives you a hand, but more importantly (since some of the “helping” may not be to your standards or could take a long time), instills in them a sense of responsibility and care for their belongings and home.

My kids have been doing different ‘chores’ for years. I now prefer the term “responsibilities”. They love the challenge of wanting to complete them all and they look forward to changing them up.

This year I adjusted their responsibility charts in August, to give them a month of having more structure/routine before heading back to school.

I’ve made up some free templates for you to use in CANVA. There are two copies of each design – one with some ideas typed in for you (which you can alter/change/edit), and one that is blank. You can also insert your child’s name above “RESPONSIBILITIES” at the top before printing. This is a great way to personalize your chart prior to printing it out.

I’m also including the PDF versions of blank charts. Simply print them out at home or at a local print shop, laminate it (if you have a laminator), or stick it into a sheet protector. There are also self-adhesive lamination sheets that don’t require a laminating machine (liked below).

You and your children can use dry erase markers daily to check off the responsibilities and even change the different jobs they have when the time is right.

Linking some of the items I used to make these at home below! Enjoy!
