Our Favourite Halloween Books for 2020

I can’t believe this but it seems as though I haven’t updated this list since 2017! Both of the “big kids” were quite little then and I’ve expanded our Halloween library substantially over the last 3 years. Each year they get a couple of new books and each year a few of the baby books become irrelevant (although this year there is a mix, thanks to Sloane!).

I have listed all of these (and more) in my amazon shop for those who are interested. I couldn’t possibly photograph them all.

I actually missed three of this year’s favourites because we had been reading them and I forgot to return them to the book wall. “Oscar Seeks a Friend” is full of the most stunning artwork and has such a beautiful story and message.

“Thanksgiving in the Woods” is also illustrated beautifully. It is a bit of a longer, more descriptive story and it really sets the tone for that cozy fall atmosphere.

The book “I’m Not (very) Afraid of the Dark” has tiny holes in each page that when you hold the book up to the light in your room as you’re reading, they glow. It is incredibly done!

My favourites of this year are probably:

1. Oscar Seeks a Friend // 2. Gilbert the Ghost (not new to us but we love it) // 3. The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt // 4. I’m Not (very) Afraid of the Dark // 5. Thanksgiving in the Woods

… but like I say, all of the books I have linked for you are amazing and for a variety of ages. I hope you like this list and enjoy reading with your littles!
