There is something about spring that I love. While it isn’t my favourite season (fall has to be it for me), it is up there with its warmer temperatures, feeling of freshness, beautiful budding new flowers, and pastel colour palette.
When spring comes, I can’t wait to break out the spring and Easter décor. I don’t have as much of it as I do for fall, but there’s still plenty to go around. Before I take you on a little tour of our main floor and the details I’ve included, here are some of my tips for decorating for spring
Include fresh blooms
Spring flowers are affordable and they grow like weeds so they’re easy to find. Buy yourself a big bunch of tulips or hydrangeas, and intersperse the pricier ones like ranunculus and peonies when you’re hosting an event or a brunch. I usually pick out 2-3 blooms from a bigger bunch and separate them into a smaller arrangement to put on the island, in the master bathroom, or next to my bed.
Go faux!
Faux flowers can be really realistic and natural looking if you get the right ones. I love lamb’s ear, baby’s breath, and grasses in particular, and they help bring some life to your space between buying fresh (and it saves you money since you can reuse them for several years)!
Bunnies are everything
You can find little bunny figurines and decorations at HomeSense (obviously), Michaels, and even places like the dollar store. If they don’t come in the colour you want, don’t be afraid to spray paint them to match your décor! You can include a little bunny here and there for some fun and whimsy.
Use Easter eggs
I love DIY-ing my own Easter eggs, but I don’t like to make them too far in advance. This year Easter is later than usual, so I’m opting for painted wooden eggs, and even mini eggs in a little dish to bring some colour (and tastiness) to my home. Once Easter gets a little closer we’ll do some natural dyed eggs and some Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs), too.
Small touches go a long way
Include little details in different corners of the room and the whole place will feel festive. I stuck a tiny faux orchid in my powder room, for example. I also split up my tulips and put a couple of extra flowers into smaller vases to place around the house. We have little touches all over and it feels really fresh and alive.
Wreaths and Garlands
You don’t have to spend a fortune on a wreath. I usually make my own for less than $20 rather than spending $80+ for a ready-made one from the store. Buy a grapevine wreath from Michaels for around $12 and some faux blooms (you don’t even need to cover the entire thing – you may have some laying around from another project?) and get out the hot glue gun. I put a wreath on the front door but also some smaller ones on mirrors or on our hood vent to liven up the space.
Garlands are another affordable option. This year I made one using little wooden bunnies from HomeSense and my own ribbon. I also found a felted ball garland with a 40% coupon at Michaels that I wrapped around a mirror. String a garland on your mantle, across a mirror, or anywhere!
Do you decorate for the seasons? Holidays? Only Christmas? Let me know what you do in the spring to keep your space feeling fresh after a long stretch of winter. Hope you enjoy these photos of our spring decorating!

So beautiful!! I can’t tell which are fake and which are real flowers haha. Love all the little touches. I’ve been keeping my eye out for pussywillow and I’m a bit embarrassed to say we still have hearts and snowflakes up hahaha! Thanks for the inspiration 😉 xo
It all looks so fresh and bright! I agree, the flower touches here and there are so uplifting! I’ve got a lovely Lily already, had some tulips and have begun to bring out my few little bunnies! I have nowhere near what you have, but you have me wanting to run out to HomeSense in Michael’s!! ❤
P.S… I got my nails done yesterday in a beautiful Easter blue!
