Christmas Mouse House 2021

Christmas is OBVIOUSLY the most wonderful time of the year, and the same goes for the dollhouse. I LOVE to decorate the dollhouse for the holidays! All three of my kids are obsessed with this year’s version and I hope you love it, too!

We also have the IKEA dollhouse which is VERY affordable and a great place to start. I purchased this one (which you can also buy at Walmart for $60 HERE) off of Facebook marketplace, brand new in the box for $20. This is the one I’m using for the Christmas dollhouse because I needed more space. I’ll be building a large one someday, but this season was not the season to take on a project like that.

You can search my blog for a few other dollhouse posts if you want some more info!

There are lots of amazing small shops that sell dollhouse furniture and accessories and there is a lot of money that can be spent on this, but I recommend taking your time building a collection and doing your best to DIY anything really simple or unique. This year I handmade a bunch of the accessories using oven bake clay and then painted them with a fine detail brush.

You can also make a lot of bedding/rugs/pillows/towels just using fabric scraps or samples and a hot glue gun (and trim, if you’d like!). If you need to make picture frames you can use tiny wooden dowels or coffee stir sticks with hot glue and simply use an exact knife to cut them to size.

For the snowflakes in the bathroom I just tied fishing line to confetti pieces and taped them to the ceiling! You can really go crazy with the DIYs, its so easy!

I hope you love this one as much as I do. Thank you to the Dollhouse Republic for sending us so many goodies this year to feature in our “mouse house”.
